Free Poker Trainer with Real Solver Feedback

Most free poker trainers deal you hands and let you click. That is a card dealer, not a trainer. This one scores every decision against a precomputed solve, prices the mistake in big blinds, and explains it in words you already understand — on a tier that costs nothing and never expires.

No card required · the calculators need no account at all.

What a poker trainer has to do

Dealing hands is the easy part. Software earns the word trainer only when it can answer three questions the moment you act: what should I have done, what did my choice cost, and why. The first needs a solved reference for that exact spot. The second needs that reference to carry expected value rather than a tick and a cross. The third needs the numbers turned back into a sentence.

Sharkling grades against a library of solved spots, not a rule of thumb. Each action is scored on EV lost and bucketed as Perfect, Fine, Mistake or Blunder. A fold that gives up 0.05bb and a call that burns 4bb are both “wrong”, and a trainer that says only that has told you nothing about which leak to fix first.

The explanation is assembled from what the solve exposes — your equity, the price you were offered, the board texture, the blockers your exact combo holds — and pitched at where you are in the curriculum. Early on the same river spot is explained with pot odds; later it is explained with nut advantage and range structure. If you want the machinery underneath, we wrote up what a solver actually computes.

What the free tier includes

This is a tier, not a trial. Nothing below expires after a fortnight and none of it asks for a card:

  • The complete skill tree, from which hand wins to solver-informed play. Hearts limit how many mistakes you can make in a sitting; no lesson is locked behind a wall.
  • 20 trainer drills a day, each one a real decision graded on EV lost.
  • The button versus big blind single-raised pot, solved on every canonical flop — all 1,755 strategically distinct boards, with no daily solve limit on top of the drills.
  • The daily puzzle: one hand-picked spot, the same for everyone, with the share of players who got it right revealed afterwards.
  • Opening ranges for all six seats, the same charts published on the free preflop chart pages.
  • Your top 3 leaks, ranked by what they cost, plus daily quests, cosmetics and weekly 30-player leagues.

Free against Premium, honestly

The free tier is where you learn the game. Premium exists for breadth and volume — the parts that cost real compute to produce.

Custom Solves and the tournament ladder — the same flop coverage repeated at stack depths from 10bb to 80bb — sit on Premium+, which bills cash and tournaments together rather than twice. What no tier changes is the grader: the same solved reference scores a free account and a paying one, and gems buy cosmetics, never answers.

Who this suits

  • Players stuck at micro stakes. You know the rules, you have read the forums, and you still cannot say what a hand costs you. Graded drills answer that in big blinds within one session.
  • Complete beginners. The tree starts at hand rankings, so nothing assumes you have met a range chart before, and the vocabulary arrives when the spots demand it.
  • People who already own a solver. A desktop solver answers questions you already knew to ask. A trainer finds the questions — which is the difference between a solve and practice.

The one group it does not suit is anyone hoping to be handed a chart to memorise. Every drill makes you decide first and shows the solve second, because recall and recognition are not the same skill, and only the second one survives contact with a table.

Your first graded hand takes five minutes

Frequently asked questions

Is the poker trainer actually free?

Yes, and it is a tier rather than a trial — no expiry and no card. It includes the whole skill tree, the daily puzzle, 20 graded drills a day, every canonical flop in the button versus big blind single-raised pot with no daily solve limit, opening preflop charts and your top 3 leaks.

What does 'graded against a solver' mean?

When a practice decision has exact solver coverage, it is compared with the precomputed solve for that spot and the difference is measured in expected value. Other spots use clearly labeled frequency guidance. Instead of a vague right or wrong, you get feedback that shows which mistakes matter most.

Do I need to understand GTO before I start?

No. The tree begins at which hand wins and pot odds, and solver vocabulary such as range advantage and blockers only appears once the spots you are playing need it. The grading is running from the first hand either way.

Is a free trainer enough to beat low stakes?

The free tier covers preflop discipline and one fully solved postflop matchup, which is where most of the money at micro stakes is won and lost. What it does not give you is breadth: other openers, other stack depths and tournament spots are what the paid library is for.

How much time does a session take?

Lessons run two to five minutes and a drill is a single decision, so five minutes a day is a real session rather than a marketing number. The daily puzzle is one spot and takes under a minute.
